Strangers

All of these strangers I pass every day
Sometimes so surprising, sometimes so hidden
Some days the beauty of each and every one
Brings a smile to my face like nothing else could

I might never know you
You might never know me
But both of our stories are unique, beautiful
I wonder about you, do you wonder about me?

Where do you come from?
Where are you going?
Are you happy?
Are you miserable?

You’re probably like me
A little of both
And even if your past is dark
your future may well be dazzling

Maybe we’ll meet
And perhaps become friends
In a year we could be laughing in the rain
And talking for hours about the meaning of life

We probably won’t
I highly doubt you’ll ever know me
But I’ll never give up hope of discovering someone
And I’ll always remember

Every love, every lover,
Every sister, every brother
Was once a stranger
That simply made me wonder
